Complete guide: Tattoo Needles Kwadron Cartridge PMU OPTIMA CF Point Taper

Kwadron PMU Optima CF Point Taper cartridges are disposable needles dedicated to permanent makeup and micropigmentation, created by Kwadron specifically for working on the delicate skin of the face. The CF (Curved Flat) configuration places the needles flat, with a subtle curvature at the tips, for uniform pigment distribution on surfaces, and the PT (Point Taper, 2.5 mm double sharpened) sharpening provides fine and controlled penetration. They are a choice for PMU technicians who perform procedures such as powder brows, ombre brows, or lip blush, where control and fine pixelation matter.

How to use

  1. Wash your hands, put on disposable gloves, and prepare the work area with protective barriers on the machine, cable, and surfaces.
  2. Check the individual sterile packaging of the cartridge: if the blister is damaged or opened, do not use the needle — sterility is no longer guaranteed.
  3. Remove the cartridge from the packaging without touching the tip and mount it into your PMU pen using the cartridge locking system until it is properly secured.
  4. Adjust the needle exposure to a low value — in micropigmentation you work superficially on thin facial skin, so depth control is essential.
  5. Load the tip with pigment from the disposable capsule and work with even, constant movements; the membrane in the cartridge helps prevent pigment reflux towards the machine.
  6. Periodically wipe the treated area with a skin-appropriate product and reload pigment as needed, always checking the obtained saturation.
  7. At the end, disassemble the cartridge with gloves on and dispose of it immediately in a special sharps container — it is strictly single-use.

Tips from us

  • Use the CF configuration for shading and uniform coverage on surfaces (powder brows, lips); for fine lines and hairstrokes, instead choose a liner-type configuration.
  • Point Taper penetrates very efficiently due to the fine sharpening — work gently and let the needle do the job, without additional pressure on the skin.
  • The price is per piece, so estimate how many cartridges you use per procedure and always keep a few sealed reserves in stock.
  • Take note of the configurations and settings that give you the desired results for each type of procedure, so you can consistently reproduce the same effect.
  • Before the appointment, check the date and packaging integrity of all cartridges you plan to use, so you don't run out of sterile needles during the procedure.
Warning: The cartridge is sterile, individually packaged, and strictly single-use: never reuse it and do not attempt to resterilize it, regardless of the method. Do not use a cartridge with damaged packaging. In PMU you work near the eyes and mucous membranes, so hygiene is critical: gloves, protective barriers on equipment, surface disinfection, and disposal of used needles exclusively in sharps containers. Micropigmentation procedures must be performed only by trained individuals, under appropriate hygienic and sanitary conditions.

Frequently asked questions

What do CF and Point Taper mean for these cartridges?

CF stands for Curved Flat: the needles are arranged flat, like a magnum, but with a subtle curvature at the tips, which helps in uniform pigment distribution on surfaces with reduced trauma. PT (Point Taper) describes the needle sharpening — 2.5 mm double sharpened — the finest tip geometry in the range, which allows precise and controlled penetration at the shallow depths used in PMU.

For which PMU procedures are these cartridges suitable?

The CF configuration with Point Taper is designed for procedures that require uniform coverage and fine pixelation on surfaces: powder brows, ombre brows, lip blush, or color corrections. For tracing individual fine lines (e.g., hairstrokes), other configurations, such as liner type, are typically used, so choose the cartridge according to the technique you are working on.

Are they compatible with my PMU pen?

The Kwadron PMU Optima cartridges use the cartridge locking system found in PMU and tattoo pens. However, before ordering, check your machine's manual to ensure it accepts standard grip cartridges and allows fine adjustment of needle exposure — precise depth control is essential in micropigmentation.

Can I reuse a cartridge on the same client for the touch-up session?

No. Each cartridge is individually sterile packaged and intended for single use only, for one procedure. After use, it comes into contact with biological fluids and cannot be brought back to a sterile state by any method available in a salon. For a touch-up, always open a new, sealed cartridge, and dispose of the used one in the sharps container.

What does the membrane in the cartridge help with?

The membrane is an internal barrier that prevents reflux: it prevents pigment and fluids from rising from the cartridge toward the pen. Thus, the equipment remains protected from cross-contamination between clients — an aspect even more important in PMU, where you work near the eyes and mucous membranes.

How does the housing of these cartridges differ from a regular one?

The housing is made of medical-grade plastic, which reduces friction between the needle and the housing, and the needle stabilization system ensures durability and smooth operation during work. The integrated needle with tip and individual sterile packaging support the safety and hygiene standards required in micropigmentation.

Frequently Asked Questions What does CF mean in Kwadron PMU Optima CF Point Taper? CF stands for Curved Flat — a configuration that combines flat needle arrangement (like magnum) with a subtle tip curvature. This geometry enables uniform pigment distribution across facial surfaces with minimal trauma. CF provides more coverage than RL but with more control and delicacy than a standard M1. What advantage does Point Taper offer over Long Taper in PMU? Point Taper has the finest and longest needle point, offering ultra-precise penetration at very shallow depths. In PMU, where you work on thin facial skin at 0.5-1mm depths, Point Taper allows maximum control of depth and pigment distribution. Long Taper offers good precision but not at Point Taper level for fine pixelation. What PMU procedures are ideal for Kwadron Optima CF Point Taper? Kwadron Optima CF Point Taper excels in: high-quality powder brows with fine pixelation, ombre brows with flawless transitions, uniform and natural lip blush, color corrections on old PMU, and facial scar camouflage. It is the premium instrument for any PMU procedure requiring uniform pigment distribution across surfaces. How does Kwadron Optima CF compare to PMU Limited RS? The difference is substantial. Kwadron Optima CF Point Taper is Kwadron's top product, manufactured with the tightest tolerances and finest available finish. PMU Limited RS is an accessible product with good but not elite performance. Optima CF delivers finer pixelation, less trauma, and visibly superior results on complex PMU procedures. What voltage do you recommend for Kwadron Optima CF Point Taper? For Kwadron Optima CF Point Taper in PMU, we recommend very low voltage: 3.5-5.5V. Point Taper penetrates extremely efficiently, so it requires less power than other geometries. For powder brows: 3.5-4.5V. For lip blush: 4.5-5.5V. Low voltage combined with Point Taper produces the fine, natural pixelation for which Optima is renowned. Is Kwadron Optima CF compatible with my PMU pen? Yes, Kwadron Optima CF Point Taper uses the universal standard cartridge grip, compatible with all PMU and tattoo pens: Cheyenne Sol Nova, FK Irons Spektra, Kwadron PMU pen, Glovcon, Biotek, and any other pen with standard grip. Ensure the pen allows precise needle exposure adjustment — essential in PMU. Why choose Kwadron Optima instead of other premium PMU needles? Kwadron Optima represents the pinnacle of PMU engineering — manufactured in Poland with the tightest tolerances in the industry, medical-grade 316L steel with a flawless microscopic finish. Compared to other premium PMU needles, Optima offers superior batch-to-batch consistency and a Point Taper unmatched by other brands. The investment in Optima shows in patient results. How many Kwadron Optima CF cartridges do I need for powder brows? For a complete powder brows session, plan for 2-4 Kwadron Optima CF Point Taper cartridges. The superior needle quality maintains sharpness longer than standard needles, but change the cartridge after each eyebrow for optimal results. At touch-up (4-6 weeks), 1-2 cartridges are usually sufficient. What pigments do you recommend with Kwadron Optima CF? With Kwadron Optima CF we recommend premium PMU pigments with fine granulometry: Permablend, Li Pigments, Phi Contour, Tina Davies I Love Ink, or Bio Touch. Point Taper is optimized for fine-granulometry pigments — coarser pigments may reduce Point Taper effectiveness. Choose pigments with warm or neutral base for stable results over time. Does Kwadron Optima CF require advanced experience to use? Yes, Kwadron Optima CF Point Taper is an advanced instrument that requires significant PMU experience. The ultra-precise Point Taper amplifies any technique errors — wrong depth, inconsistent pressure, or inappropriate speed. We recommend this cartridge for PMU technicians with minimum 1-2 years of active experience and certified professional training.
