Complete guide: Tattoo Needles Kwadron Cartridge PMU OPTIMA M1 Point taper

Professional micropigmentation cartridge from the Kwadron Optima series, with M1 magnum configuration and Point Taper sharpening, specially designed for permanent makeup. The needles are arranged in two parallel rows, covering a wide surface — making it the choice of PMU technicians for fills and uniform saturation: lip blush, powder brows, color corrections. It is a sterile, single-use consumable, sold individually, with an anti-reflux membrane and a medical-grade plastic housing that reduces needle friction.

How to use

  1. Prepare the work area: disposable gloves, sanitized surfaces, and protective barriers on the pen and cable.
  2. Check the integrity of the individual sterile packaging — if the blister is open, perforated, or damaged, do not use the cartridge.
  3. Remove the cartridge without touching the tip and attach it to your PMU pen or cartridge system machine until it locks securely.
  4. Adjust the needle tip exposure to a short length, suitable for superficial work on facial skin.
  5. Load the tip with pigment from the capsule and test the machine's operation before touching the skin.
  6. Work with uniform passes and light pressure — the M1 configuration covers a wide area, so saturation is built through controlled passes, not pressure.
  7. Wipe off excess pigment with disposable wipes and reload the tip as needed.
  8. When finished, detach the cartridge and dispose of it in a sharps container — never reuse it.

Tips from us

  • The Point Taper sharpening (2.5 mm, double sharpened) penetrates very efficiently — keep penetration shallow and pressure minimal, especially on sensitive facial skin.
  • Use the M1 for fills and coverage on surfaces (lip blush, dense powder brows, color corrections) and save liner configurations for contours and details — they are complementary.
  • The anti-reflux membrane prevents pigment from flowing back into the machine, but still use protective barriers on the equipment for each client.
  • The price is per piece — calculate your needs for each procedure plus a spare, in case a cartridge accidentally touches a non-sterile surface.
  • If the needle touches any non-sterile surface before or during the procedure, replace the cartridge with a new one.
  • The product is designed for experienced technicians: the large contact surface of the magnum amplifies any depth or pressure error, so practice on synthetic skin first if you haven't worked with this configuration before.
Warning: Cartridges are sterile, individually packaged, and strictly single-use: one cartridge per client, per procedure — do not re-sterilize or reuse, not even for the same client's touch-up. Dispose of them exclusively in dedicated sharps containers. Micropigmentation must be performed only with gloves, on cleaned and disinfected skin, with protective barriers on the equipment. Product intended for professional use.

Frequently asked questions

For which PMU procedures is the M1 configuration suitable?

M1 is a magnum with needles arranged in two parallel rows, so it covers a significantly larger surface than liner configurations. It is ideal for fills: lip blush over the entire lip surface, dense powder brows, and color corrections that require uniform saturation over extended areas. For contours, lines, and fine details, choose round liner or round shader configurations instead.

What does 'Point Taper' mean and how does it help me?

Point Taper (PT) is the needle sharpening type — according to specifications, a double sharpening of 2.5 mm. Practically, it gives you very precise control over penetration, exactly what you need for superficial work on sensitive facial skin. The downside: because it penetrates so efficiently, you must work with reduced pressure, otherwise you risk going too deep.

Which machines are these cartridges compatible with?

According to the description, Kwadron PMU Optima cartridges are compatible with PMU pens and standard tattoo machines that use a cartridge system. Before ordering, just check that your pen accepts cartridges with a standard grip system — if you have a device with a closed proprietary system, consult its manual.

Can I reuse the cartridge for the same client's touch-up session?

No. The cartridge is sterile, individually packaged, and single-use — it must be discarded immediately after the procedure in a sharps container. For a touch-up, open a new, sealed cartridge. Reusing it voids sterility and exposes the client to infection risk, no matter how well you clean the needle.

Are these needles suitable for beginners in micropigmentation?

The manufacturer's description does not recommend them for beginners, and rightly so: the large contact surface of the M1 magnum, combined with the efficient penetration of the Point Taper, amplifies any pressure or depth mistake. If you are a beginner, start with liner configurations (round liner/shader) that you can control more easily, and move to magnum after gaining experience.

How can I ensure a cartridge is okay before using it?

Each needle comes individually packaged, sterile, and single-use. Before use, check the integrity of the packaging: the blister must be sealed, without perforations or signs of moisture. Do not use a cartridge with compromised packaging and do not touch the needle tip when removing it from the blister — if it happens, switch to a new one.

Needles with membrane Needle length: PT - Pint Taper (2.5mm double sharpened)Material: Stainless steel The price is per piece Kwadron PMU Optima M1 Point Taper cartridge needles are premium permanent micropigmentation needles with flat Magnum configuration and Point Taper geometry, offering maximum coverage with elite precision on facial skin. The M1 configuration arranges needles in two parallel rows, covering a wide surface for rapid, uniform pigment distribution. Point Taper adds ultra-precise penetration control, allowing work at very shallow depths (0.5-1mm) on sensitive facial skin. Manufactured in Poland from 316L surgical stainless steel with Kwadron's premium finish, these needles have a microscopic polish that dramatically reduces skin trauma. Kwadron's advanced-generation safety membrane completely prevents backflow. Individual EO gas sterilization and blister packaging guarantee absolute safety. Compatible with PMU and standard tattoo pen machines. Kwadron Optima M1 Point Taper is the ideal instrument for rapid PMU fills — lip blush on large surfaces, powder brows with rapid coverage, and color corrections requiring uniform saturation across extended facial areas. The Optima series is the absolute pinnacle of Kwadron engineering for micropigmentation — every needle passes through the strictest quality controls, the finish is achieved through multiple polishing stages with diamond pastes, and the taper geometry is microscopically verified for each batch. Premium packaging includes detailed traceability information and sterility certification. PMU technicians who invest in Optima are actually investing in their professional reputation — superior results on clients build a loyal client base and organic referrals. Frequently Asked Questions What advantage does M1 configuration offer in PMU over RL or RS? M1 configuration covers a significantly larger surface than RL or RS, allowing rapid and uniform pigment distribution. In PMU, this means shorter and less traumatic sessions for the patient. M1 is ideal for fills — complete lip blush, dense powder brows, color corrections on large surfaces. RL and RS are for details and lines. Is Kwadron Optima M1 Point Taper good for lip blush? Kwadron Optima M1 Point Taper is excellent for lip blush. The M1 configuration enables rapid coverage of the lip surface, while Point Taper ensures superficial, controlled penetration — essential on the labio-cutaneous mucosa. The result is a uniform, natural lip blush with reduced healing time due to minimal trauma. It is the premium choice for this procedure. What difference exists between Kwadron Optima M1 and Optima CF? Optima M1 has flat needles in two rows — maximum coverage, aggressive pigment distribution, ideal for rapid fills. Optima CF has flat needles with curvature — large coverage but with softer edge transitions, ideal for ombre and blending. M1 is for rapid saturation, CF is for transitions and gradient. They are complementary. What voltage do you recommend for Kwadron Optima M1 Point Taper in PMU? For Kwadron Optima M1 Point Taper in PMU, we recommend: 4-5.5V for powder brows, 4.5-6V for lip blush, and 4-5V for color corrections. Point Taper penetrates extremely efficiently, so voltage must be kept lower than with other geometries. Excessive voltage with Point Taper causes too-deep penetration on facial skin. Is Kwadron Optima M1 suitable for PMU beginners? We do not recommend Kwadron Optima M1 Point Taper for PMU beginners. The M1 configuration with Point Taper requires significant experience — the large contact surface amplifies any depth or pressure errors. Beginners should start with PMU Limited RL and RS, then advance to Optima after accumulating experience on minimum 50-100 procedures. How many configurations does Kwadron Optima M1 Point Taper have? Kwadron Optima M1 Point Taper is available in small configurations, optimized for facial PMU — typically 5M1 and 7M1. These sizes are calibrated for facial surfaces: 5M1 for smaller areas and details, 7M1 for rapid coverage on lips and eyebrows. Larger configurations are not necessary in PMU due to the small working surfaces. What movement technique do I use with Kwadron Optima M1 on lip blush? For lip blush with Kwadron Optima M1 Point Taper, use small, constant circular movements, covering the area systematically from one lip corner to the other. Maintain light, uniform pressure — Point Taper does the penetration, not hand pressure. Slightly overlap each pass for uniform saturation. Work rapidly but with constant control. How does Point Taper affect PMU healing? Point Taper significantly contributes to faster and cleaner PMU healing. Ultra-precise penetration causes minimal tissue trauma, resulting in less inflammation, thinner scabbing, and better pigment retention after healing. Patients report less pain and post-procedure discomfort compared to standard taper needles. Can Kwadron Optima M1 be used for body tattoos? Technically yes, but it is not designed for this purpose. Kwadron Optima M1 Point Taper is calibrated for superficial penetration on facial skin (0.5-1mm). For body tattoos requiring 1.5-2.5mm penetration, standard Kwadron M1 or Pro Plus M1 tattoo needles are more suitable. Using Optima M1 on the body would be inefficient and costly. Is the investment in Kwadron Optima M1 worth it over PMU Limited? If you do professional PMU on premium clients, the investment in Kwadron Optima M1 Point Taper is absolutely worth it. Results are visibly superior — finer pixelation, faster healing, better retention. If you do PMU occasionally or at the start of your career, PMU Limited is sufficient. Kwadron Optima is for those offering top-tier PMU services.
