Guide & full description

Complete guide: External battery pack FK IRONS AIRBOLT black

The FK Irons AirBolt external battery is a wireless power source, designed for tattoo machines in the FK Irons ecosystem, but also compatible with most other rotary machines via a standard RCA connector (sold separately). It charges via USB-C and can be paired with the Darklab app via Bluetooth for wireless control and saved presets. It is especially useful for artists who want freedom of movement without a cable during sessions. It is not a consumable, but a reusable piece of equipment that charges periodically and is not changed between clients.

How to use

Fully charge the battery via the USB-C port using the included cable before first use.
Connect the battery to your tattoo machine using a standard RCA connector — not included, purchased separately — and verify your machine's compatibility in advance.
Attach it to the machine using the built-in non-slip magnetic pad for a stable grip during work.
Adjust the output voltage between 5 and 12 V in 0.5 V steps until you find the setting suitable for your needle type and working style.
For wireless control, pair the battery with the Darklab app via Bluetooth and save your favorite presets in the Preset Bank for quick recall between sessions.
Monitor the charge level on the voltage LED display during sessions.
The battery automatically shuts off when the charge level drops below 3% as a protection feature — keep this in mind for long sessions.
When finished, disconnect it, clean the exterior without exposing ports to liquids, and put it on to charge for the next session.

Tips from us

Battery life varies depending on the voltage used, needle brand and size, and environmental factors such as temperature — for long sessions, consider a backup battery.
Check the compatibility of the RCA connector with your machine beforehand; while designed for the FK Irons ecosystem, it works with most rotary machines with a standard connector.
Like any Li-Ion battery, capacity naturally decreases over time and with use — this is normal wear, not a warranty-covered defect.
Use the original USB-C cable or a high-quality equivalent for charging, to avoid slow charging or contact issues.
Note that delivery of this product is limited and cannot be shipped via express courier services — this may affect delivery time.
Protect it with a disposable barrier during sessions, like the rest of the reusable equipment in your kit.

Warning: Although the battery itself is not a direct contact consumable, it is handled within the work area of a tattoo studio: cover the exterior surface with a disposable protective barrier during the session and change the barrier for each client, as with the rest of the reusable equipment. Avoid contact of the USB-C port and the RCA connector with liquids (disinfectants, water, ink) — clean only the exterior surface with the device turned off and disconnected. Do not open or attempt to repair the Li-Ion battery yourself — risk of short circuit or damage; at the end of its life, take it to a battery/electronic waste collection point, not household trash.

Frequently asked questions

Which tattoo machines is the AirBolt battery compatible with?▾

It is designed for machines in the FK Irons ecosystem, but connects via a standard RCA connector, so it is also compatible with most other rotary machines with this connector type. The RCA connector is not included in the package and is purchased separately — check your machine's connector type before ordering.

How long does the battery last on a single charge?▾

Battery life varies, from approximately 2 to 10 hours, depending on the voltage used, needle brand and size, and environmental factors such as temperature. It charges via USB-C, with the included cable in the package.

How do I maintain the battery long term?▾

Charge it with the original USB-C cable or an equivalent one, avoid contact of the ports with liquids, and only clean the exterior with the device turned off. Like any Li-Ion battery, capacity gradually decreases over time and with use — this is normal wear and is not covered by the warranty. The product comes with a 1-year warranty for manufacturing defects.

What exactly do I get in the package?▾

Only the AirBolt battery pack and the USB-C charging cable. The tattoo machine and consumables shown in product images are for visual reference only and are not included; the RCA connector is purchased separately.

Can I control the battery from my phone?▾

Yes — it can be paired via Bluetooth with the Darklab app, where you can set and save unlimited presets in the Preset Bank, for wireless control and quick recall of your preferred settings during sessions.

How is delivery handled for this product?▾

Delivery options are limited — the product cannot be shipped via express courier services. Keep this in mind when estimating delivery time, especially if you have a scheduled session.
