Guide & full description

Complete guide: Adapter Cable 6.3mm Plug / 3.5mm Jack

This is an original Cheyenne adapter cable with one 6.3 mm jack end and the other 3.5 mm jack end. Its role is to connect a Cheyenne tattoo machine to a power supply equipped with a 6.3 mm socket, solving the mechanical mismatch between connectors. It is a niche accessory, useful for the artist who already has a power supply or pedal with a 6.3 mm output and wants to use it with Cheyenne equipment. Keep in mind from the start that not every power supply is compatible with Cheyenne machines, even if the plugs fit physically.

How to use

Turn off the power supply before connecting or disconnecting any cable.
Identify the two ends: the large 6.3 mm jack (like a guitar plug) and the small 3.5 mm jack (like a headphone plug).
Insert the 6.3 mm jack into the large port of the power supply and press firmly until it is fully seated.
Connect the 3.5 mm end to the Cheyenne machine's plug/cable.
Before turning on, make sure your power supply is compatible with Cheyenne machines — the adapter only solves the plug fit, not the electrical compatibility.
Turn on the power supply and check if the machine receives power; if your power supply requires 'Start up Facility' to start, use it according to the equipment instructions.
Finally, turn off the power supply and disconnect by pulling on the connector body, never on the cable.

Tips from us

Always pull on the plug, not the cable, to avoid loosening the connector-cable joints over time.
Physically check the direction you need before ordering: 6.3 mm = guitar plug, 3.5 mm = headphone plug; this cable goes from 6.3 mm to 3.5 mm.
Keep the cable loosely coiled, without tight bends at the base of the connectors, where cables usually fail first.
Keep a spare cable handy — an intermittent contact during the session means a machine stopping on the skin.
Do not force a connector that doesn't fit: if it doesn't match, you probably need the reverse version (3.5 mm to 6.3 mm) or another adapter.

Warning: Not all power supplies are compatible with Cheyenne machines — check compatibility before use, and some power supplies require 'Start up Facility' to start the machine. Always connect and disconnect with the power supply turned off. Wipe the connectors with a clean, dry cloth and keep the cable clean, as any accessory in the work area must remain hygienic. The product comes with a 6-month warranty.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if I need the 6.3 mm to 3.5 mm direction or the reverse version?▾

Look at the plugs. This cable is used to connect the Cheyenne machine to a power supply equipped with a 6.3 mm jack: the large end (6.3 mm, like a guitar plug) goes to the power supply, and the small end (3.5 mm, like a headphone plug) goes to the machine. If your situation is reversed — the power supply has a small output and the equipment has a large input — then you need the reverse version, 3.5 mm to 6.3 mm.

Will any power supply work with my Cheyenne machine if I use this adapter?▾

No. The adapter only solves the mechanical mismatch of the plugs, not the electrical compatibility. The product description explicitly warns that not all power supplies are compatible with Cheyenne machines, and some require a 'Start up Facility' to start. Check your power supply's compatibility before using it in a real session.

What is 'Start up Facility'?▾

It is mentioned in the product information as being necessary for some power supplies to start the Cheyenne machine. If your power supply requires it, follow the instructions of the power supply or machine manufacturer; if in doubt, ask us before purchasing to be sure of your setup.

How do I maintain the cable to make it last?▾

Always disconnect by pulling on the plug, not the cable, keep it loosely coiled, and periodically wipe the connectors with a dry cloth. Avoid tight bends at the base of the connectors and keep the cable away from excessive heat. Since it is an accessory that enters the work area, keep it clean from one session to the next.

How much does it weigh and does anything need to be assembled upon delivery?▾

The cable weighs approximately 20 g and is ready to use — you connect it directly, no assembly required. It is not a consumable product, so you reuse it over time; just take care of the connectors and the cable, as you would with any power accessory.

What warranty does the product have?▾

The cable comes with a 6-month warranty. Additionally, after a warranty repair, you receive an additional 6 months of warranty for the product.

Product description

Adapter Cable 6.3mm Plug / 3.5mm Jack It is used to connect Cheyenne cars to the source provided with a 6.3mm jack. ATTENTION NOT ALL SOURCES ARE COMPATIBLE WITH CHEYENNE MACHINES! Some sources require Start up Facility. Warranty: 6 months After the repair, you will receive, in addition, another 6 months of warranty. The Cheyenne adapter cable from 6.3mm jack to 3.5mm jack is the original connectivity accessory performing the reverse conversion — from equipment with the large 6.3mm (quarter-inch) port to Cheyenne equipment with the small 3.5mm (mini-jack) input. This cable is the direct complement to the 3.5mm-to-6.3mm adapter, addressing configurations where the power supply or pedal delivers signal through a 3.5mm jack, but the machine or receiving equipment has a 6.3mm input. Within the Cheyenne ecosystem, this adapter is also useful in combinations with other adapter cables from the range to resolve more complex connection chains. The 6.3mm jack connector inserts firmly into the large-diameter equipment port, ensuring stable electrical contact throughout the session. At the other end, the 3.5mm jack provides perfect compatibility with the standard mini-jack ports of Cheyenne machines. Manufacturing quality is identical to all original Cheyenne accessories: high-purity copper conductors, flexible solvent-resistant insulation, and connectors with anti-corrosion treatment. Cable-to-connector junctions are mechanically reinforced to withstand repeated pulling and bending stress. Length is optimized for comfortable studio use, allowing sufficient distance between equipment without excess cable. An essential niche accessory for artists with mixed equipment configurations.
