Guide & full description

Complete guide: Cannula 20G pink

This is a sterile, valved, single-use cannula from the piercing instrument category. The fine gauge, marked with pink in the 20G color code, makes it suitable for piercings that require a narrow channel and thin jewelry. It is intended for professional piercers who use the needle-cannula technique: the needle opens the path, and the flexible cannula stays in place for jewelry insertion. As a sterile consumable, it is used once, for a single client.

How to use

Check the blister integrity and expiration date. If the packaging is damaged or unsealed, do not use it — sterility is no longer guaranteed.
Work only with gloves, on a disinfected station, following the studio's hygiene protocol. Open the blister only at the moment of the procedure.
Prepare and disinfect the work area according to your own protocol before any maneuver.
Use the cannula as a passage tool (needle-cannula): the needle makes the path, and the 45 mm flexible cannula stays in place.
Carefully withdraw the needle — after use it has potential biological risk — and leave the cannula as a guide.
Insert the jewelry through the cannula, then withdraw the cannula.
Immediately dispose of the needle in a sharps container, and the rest in biohazard waste, according to local regulations. Never reuse the cannula.

Tips from us

Match the gauge with the jewelry: 20G (pink) is a fine gauge, for thin jewelry and discreet piercings; for thicker jewelry choose a larger gauge (smaller number, e.g., 18G).
Keep a sharps container right next to the work station to reduce handling of the used needle.
Open the cannula only at the time of use to maintain sterility until the last moment.
Store stock in the original sealed packaging, in a dry, clean place away from moisture, heat, and direct light; periodically check expiration dates.
The product does not contain latex, so it is an option for studios that avoid latex — however, separately check the jewelry materials for any client sensitivities.

Warning: Sterile, single-use, professional-use instrument. Do not reuse or resterilize — after use it may have potential biological risk. Dispose of the needle immediately in a sharps container, and the rest according to local medical waste regulations. Do not use the product if the blister is damaged or unsealed, as sterility is no longer guaranteed, and always respect the expiration date.

Frequently asked questions

What does '20G' mean and why is it pink?▾

'20G' indicates the thickness (gauge) of the cannula — the higher the number, the finer the gauge, so 20G is thinner than 18G or 16G. The pink color is the standard identification code for 20G gauge, so you can quickly recognize the thickness at the work station without having to read the packaging.

What are the exact dimensions?▾

According to the specification, the cannula has an inner diameter of 1.1 mm, a length of 45 mm, and a needle of 0.70 mm. These values determine the channel thickness and, consequently, how thin the jewelry passed through the cannula can be.

Can I reuse it if I resterilize it?▾

No. It is a sterile, single-use product that must not be reused or resterilized. After use it may have potential biological risk and is disposed of in accordance with medical practice and local regulations — the needle in a sharps container.

What is it made of and does it contain latex?▾

It is made of silicone rubber and stainless steel, with a double sharpened, siliconized tip. It does not contain latex, so it can be used in studios that avoid latex; however, separately check the jewelry materials for any client sensitivities.

How do I choose the right gauge?▾

Choose the gauge based on the thickness of the jewelry and the desired fineness of the channel. 20G (pink) is a fine gauge, suitable for thin jewelry and discreet piercings; if you want thicker jewelry, you need a larger gauge (smaller number, e.g., 18G). Always match the diameter of the cannula with that of the jewelry.

How do I store it and how long does it last?▾

Keep the cannulas in the original sealed packaging, in a dry, clean place away from moisture, excessive heat, and direct light. Do not open the blister until the moment of use to maintain sterility, and respect the expiration date marked on the packaging.

Product description

Pink cannula 20G Inner diameter: 1.1mm Length: 45mm Needle: 0.70 mm needle Sterile, valved branules are single-use and have a double-pointed, siliconized tip. Made of silicone rubber and stainless steel. The product used may have biological risk potential. Handle and dispose of in accordance with accepted medical practice and local laws and regulations. The product must not be reused. Does not contain latex. The 20G Pink Cannula is a fine-bore peripheral intravenous catheter preferred in piercing procedures requiring minimal tissue trauma and delicate jewelry. The 20 gauge corresponds to an outer needle diameter of 0.9mm and an inner cannula diameter of approximately 0.6mm, creating the smallest practical channel for functional piercing jewelry. The pink color coding is internationally standardized per ISO 10555, enabling immediate gauge identification — essential when working with multiple gauges on the workstation. The outer cannula made from medical-grade PTFE or latest-generation thermoplastic polyurethane offers exceptional flexibility, perfectly adapting to the complex geometry of auricular cartilage and the nasal ala. The inner needle of 304 or 316L surgical-grade stainless steel features an ultra-sharp tri-faceted tip designed for near-painless penetration through thin tissue. The 20G Pink Cannula is the preferred choice for nostril piercings (the most common nose gauge), standard lobes, helix on clients with thin cartilage, forward helix with micro jewelry, and multiple auricular piercings where delicate studs are desired. It is also used in certain aesthetic micropigmentation procedures requiring controlled subcutaneous access. Each unit is individually sterilized with ethylene oxide, hermetically sealed in a blister with sterilization indicator, CE marked, and strictly single-use. The compact construction and reduced diameter make it ideal for anatomical areas with limited space — small tragus, anti-tragus, and facial piercings demanding maximum discretion. An indispensable product for piercers who prioritize client comfort and rapid healing. Frequently Asked Questions
