Complete guide: RCA converter for Critical magnetic battery

This is the dedicated connection adapter that bridges the Critical wireless magnetic battery to tattoo machines with a standard RCA input. The battery attaches magnetically to the back of the machine, and the converter completes the electrical circuit from the battery terminals to the RCA port — without it, the battery cannot power an RCA machine. It is the essential piece for artists who want to switch to a cordless setup while keeping their existing RCA machines. It weighs only 5 grams, so it practically does not change the machine's balance.

How to use

  1. First, check that your machine has a standard RCA input — where you normally connect the RCA cable from the power supply.
  2. Insert the male RCA connector of the converter directly into the machine's RCA socket, with a firm push, but without forcing it.
  3. Connect the other end of the converter to the output terminals of the Critical magnetic battery and attach the battery magnetically to the back of the machine.
  4. Visually and with a slight movement, check that the battery is secure and the contact is stable — a loose contact is the most common cause of intermittent operation.
  5. Turn on the battery, set the desired voltage, and test the machine for a few seconds before starting the session.
  6. During work, cover the machine + battery + converter assembly with a protective barrier (machine bag), like any equipment in the work area.
  7. At the end, detach the battery for charging, remove the barrier and wipe the exterior surfaces, then store the converter in a clean, dry place.

Tips from us

  • Keep the contacts clean: wipe them periodically with a dry or slightly damp cloth — never pour liquid directly onto the connector.
  • For long sessions, keep a second charged battery handy so you can swap in seconds without interrupting your work; the converter stays mounted on the machine.
  • If the machine runs intermittently or stops, first check the converter's seating in the RCA socket and the battery contact, before suspecting the machine or battery.
  • Do not leave the converter mounted hanging from cables or under heavy objects — RCA sockets wear out if subjected to lateral stress.
  • If you use multiple RCA machines, you can quickly move the battery from one to another; one converter per machine makes the transition even faster.
Warning: The converter is an electrical component located in the work area, so it should be treated like any non-sterile equipment: always cover it, together with the machine and battery, with a disposable barrier during tattooing and change the barrier between clients. Disinfect only the exterior surfaces with disinfectant wipes for equipment — do not submerge it in liquids or sterilize it in an autoclave, as it is an electrical part. Handle it only with clean hands or new gloves, not with the gloves used for work.

Frequently asked questions

What tattoo machines is the converter compatible with?

With any machine that has a standard RCA input — that is, most modern rotary and pen-style machines, for example FK Irons Spektra Xion, Bishop Fantom, EZ P2S, or Dragonhawk Mast. It does not work directly with machines that have proprietary connections, such as the Cheyenne jack — there you need an additional jack-to-RCA adapter. The simple rule: if your machine connects to the power supply via an RCA cable, the converter is compatible.

What battery does this converter work with?

It is designed for the Critical wireless magnetic batteries, including the Critical Connect Universal Battery and compatible models. The battery attaches magnetically to the back of the machine, and the converter makes the electrical connection between its terminals and the RCA port. If in doubt, check your Critical battery's specifications before ordering or ask us.

Does the converter replace the RCA cable or the power supply?

No. The converter is a dedicated accessory exclusively for the interface between the Critical magnetic battery and the machine — it is not an RCA cable and cannot be used as a cable. If you want to work the classic way, with a power supply and foot pedal, you continue to use the regular RCA cable; the converter comes into play only when powering the machine from the wireless battery.

How do I properly sanitize it between clients?

Like any part mounted on the machine: during the session it stays covered by the disposable barrier together with the machine and battery, and the barrier is discarded after each client. Between sessions, wipe the exterior surfaces with a disinfectant wipe for equipment. Do not submerge it in solutions or put it in an autoclave — it is an electrical component and would be damaged.

Does it add weight or ruin the machine's balance?

Practically not at all — the converter weighs 5 grams and has a compact design that does not alter the ergonomics of the assembly. The extra weight you will feel in a wireless setup comes from the magnetic battery itself, not the converter; adapting to the new balance depends on the battery, and the converter remains negligible.

The machine runs intermittently with the battery — is it from the converter?

Most often it is a matter of imperfect contact, not a defect. Check in order: that the converter is fully inserted into the machine's RCA socket, that the battery is properly seated on the converter terminals, and that the contacts are clean, free of residue. If after cleaning and reseating the problem persists, contact us for verification.

Product description

The RCA Converter for Critical magnetic battery is the dedicated connectivity accessory that enables the use of the Critical wireless battery with tattoo machines equipped with standard RCA connection. Critical magnetic batteries (such as the Critical Connect Universal Battery) attach magnetically to the back of the machine, eliminating power cables and providing total freedom of movement. This converter creates the electrical link between the battery's output terminal and the machine's RCA port, ensuring perfect compatibility between the two systems. Without this converter, the Critical magnetic battery cannot power RCA-connected machines — the converter is the missing piece that completes the circuit. The converter's male RCA connector inserts directly into the machine's RCA socket (the input where the RCA cable from the power supply normally connects), while the other end connects to the magnetic battery's output terminals. Manufactured with premium conductive materials for perfect current transmission without losses or interference. The compact design does not add significant weight or dimension to the machine+battery assembly, maintaining wireless setup ergonomics. Compatible with Critical magnetic batteries and RCA-input machines from all major brands: FK Irons Spektra Xion, Bishop Fantom, EZ P2S, Dragonhawk Mast, and many others. Essential for artists who want Critical battery wireless freedom on their existing RCA machines. Frequently Asked Questions
