Guide & full description

Complete guide: Tongue Pierce 100039

It is a straight barbell for tongue piercing, made of surgical stainless steel 316L, with a threaded ball at each end. It has a standard gauge 14G, a 10mm bar, and 4mm diameter balls. It is intended for people who already have a fully healed tongue piercing and want to replace or change the jewelry — it is not intended for a fresh piercing.

How to use

First check the gauge of your current piercing. This model is 14G (1,6mm); if your hole was made at a different gauge, the bar will not fit correctly.
Wash your hands thoroughly and clean/disinfect the bar and balls before assembly (sterile saline solution or medical-grade disinfectant).
Unscrew one of the threaded balls from the end of the bar.
Insert the bar through the fully healed piercing channel without forcing.
Reattach the threaded ball and tighten it well, but without over-tightening.
Check that there is no play: the balls must be firm, so they don't come loose while speaking or eating.
Periodically recheck the tightness, especially with an oral jewelry, where tongue movement can loosen the thread.

Tips from us

Keep a spare ball on hand — threaded balls can loosen and get lost, and the size here is 4mm.
The threaded balls are interchangeable: you can change the look with other balls of the same gauge (14G) and same thread type.
If you have a confirmed nickel allergy, instead choose implant-grade titanium or niobium, nickel-free materials.
After swimming in a pool or the sea, rinse the piercing with fresh water.
Do not remove the jewelry often and unnecessarily: the piercing channel can contract or close if left empty for too long.

Warning: Do not use this product as a first jewelry on a fresh piercing — a new piercing is done and fitted by a professional piercer with appropriate initial jewelry. This model is for already healed piercings. Maintain good oral hygiene: clean regularly with sterile saline solution or warm water with mild antibacterial soap, rinse and dry with a clean cloth, avoiding harsh chemicals. Frequently check that the threaded balls are tight — a loose ball in an oral jewelry can be swallowed or aspirated. The surgical steel 316L components can be sterilized by autoclaving (134°C) or by immersion in a medical-grade disinfectant solution.

Frequently asked questions

What gauge does it have and how do I know if it fits me?▾

The model has a standard gauge 14G (1,6mm). Before ordering, check the thickness (gauge) of your current piercing or ask your piercer; the bar must match the gauge your piercing was done with to fit correctly.

Can I put it on a fresh piercing?▾

It is not recommended as a first jewelry. New piercings need an initial jewelry installed by a professional piercer. This product is intended for fully healed tongue piercings.

How do I clean and maintain it?▾

Clean it regularly with sterile saline solution or warm water with mild antibacterial soap, then rinse well and dry with a clean cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals. Being surgical steel 316L, it can also be sterilized by autoclaving (134°C) or immersion in a medical-grade disinfectant.

Can it cause allergic reactions?▾

With surgical steel 316L the allergic risk is minimal. However, people with a confirmed severe nickel allergy should opt for implant-grade titanium or niobium, materials completely free of nickel.

Can the balls be changed?▾

Yes. The balls are internally threaded and interchangeable: you can replace them with other compatible balls of the same gauge and same thread to customize the look of the piercing.

Can I wear it while sleeping or swimming?▾

Yes. It can be worn at night without issues, and surgical steel is water-resistant, so you can keep it on while swimming — rinse it with fresh water after pool or sea. Do not remove it regularly, to prevent the channel from contracting.

Product description

Tongue Pierce Needle size: 14GRod size: 10mm Ball diameter: 4mm Circumference: 8.4mm Material: stainless steel The Pierce Limba 100039 is a tongue barbell made from 316L surgical stainless steel with standard 14G gauge (1.6mm), with decorative captive bead ring balls. The straight bar with approximately 16-19mm length is specifically sized for tongue thickness, ensuring sufficient space for initial post-piercing swelling but without being excessively long for long-term wear. Terminal balls are internally threaded for easy assembly and disassembly. 316L surgical stainless steel is the standard material for oral piercings due to its corrosion resistance in the moist and acidic oral cavity environment, demonstrated biocompatibility, and high durability. Tongue piercing has a relatively short healing period (4-6 weeks) compared to other body piercings, but requires increased attention in the first days — soft diet, avoiding spicy and hot foods, rinsing with water or saline solution after each meal. The barbell with balls at both ends prevents accidental sliding through the piercing channel and provides stability during speaking and chewing. Frequently Asked Questions
