Guide & full description

Complete guide: Industrial Pierce 100016

An industrial barbell made of 316L surgical stainless steel, designed for the industrial ear piercing — the double piercing that crosses the upper cartilage of the ear with a single straight bar. The bar has a length of 34.6 mm, gauge 14G (1.6 mm) and ends at both ends with threaded balls of 5 mm, and in the center it carries a star ornament cut out of steel. It is a jewelry for already healed ears, suitable both for customers changing their style and for studios that need standard quality pieces.

How to use

First check the gauge of your piercing channel: this bar is 14G (1.6 mm) and fits only an industrial made for this diameter.
Wash your hands thoroughly and sterilize the jewelry before installation — surgical steel 316L withstands autoclaving at 134 degrees Celsius or immersion in medical disinfectant solution.
Unscrew one of the two threaded balls at the ends; threaded bars allow easy removal and installation.
Insert the straight bar through the first and then through the second piercing, maintaining correct alignment of the two cartilage points.
Screw the ball back on, tightening carefully until secure — check that it doesn't unscrew by itself.
Position the star ornament centrally, between the two piercings, so that it sits symmetrically.
If the piercing is recently done or you have doubts about the ear anatomy, leave the installation to a professional piercer.

Tips from us

For changing an industrial jewelry, it is safest to call a professional piercer, who evaluates the distance and angle between the two piercings.
Do not rush installation on a fresh piercing: an industrial has a longer healing period of 6-12 months, and the initial mounting jewelry is placed by the piercer.
The threaded balls are interchangeable — you can replace the ends with other balls of the same gauge and thread to customize the look.
After swimming in a pool or sea, rinse the piercing with fresh water; surgical steel is water resistant.
Store the jewelry in a clean, dry place when not wearing it, to avoid scratches on the polished finish.

Warning: Regularly clean the area and the jewelry with sterile saline solution or warm water with mild antibacterial soap, then rinse well and dry with clean material. Avoid harsh chemicals. The risk of allergic reaction is minimal with surgical steel 316L, but if you have a confirmed severe nickel allergy, choose implant-grade titanium or niobium, materials completely free of nickel. Do not use this model as the first jewelry on a fresh piercing — it is intended for fully healed piercings. If persistent redness, pain, or discharge occurs, consult a piercer or a doctor.

Frequently asked questions

What material is it made of and what are its dimensions?▾

It is made of 316L surgical stainless steel with a polished silver finish. The bar (rod) has a length of 34.6 mm, gauge 14G (1.6 mm), and the threaded balls at the ends have a diameter of 5 mm. In the center it has a star ornament cut from steel.

Does it fit my industrial piercing?▾

It fits if your industrial was made at gauge 14G (1.6 mm). First check the gauge of your channel and, if you're not sure, ask your piercer — a wrong diameter will not fit correctly.

Can I put it directly after getting my piercing?▾

No. It is not recommended as the first jewelry. New piercings require an initial mounting jewelry installed by the piercer, and the industrial has a longer healing period (6-12 months). This model is for fully healed piercings.

How do I clean and maintain it?▾

Clean regularly with sterile saline solution or warm water with mild antibacterial soap, rinse well and dry with clean, sterile material. Avoid harsh chemicals. The 316L steel components can be sterilized by autoclaving at 134 degrees Celsius or by immersion in medical disinfectant solution.

Can I have an allergic reaction?▾

The risk is minimal with surgical steel 316L, the standard material for professional body jewelry. If you have a confirmed severe nickel allergy, safer are implant-grade titanium or niobium, completely free of nickel.

Can I wear it at night and while swimming?▾

Yes to both. You can keep it overnight — it's even recommended not to remove it often, so the channel doesn't contract or close. Surgical steel is water resistant; after swimming, rinse it with fresh water.

Product description

Pierce Industrial Rod size: 34.6mm Ball diameter: 5mm Material: stainless steel The Pierce Industrial 100016 is an industrial barbell piercing made from 316L surgical stainless steel with polished silver finish, designed for the ear's industrial piercing — a double perforation traversing the upper cartilage of the auricular pavilion. The long straight bar (approximately 35-38mm) with standard 14G gauge (1.6mm) is terminated at both ends with threaded spherical balls made from surgical steel. The distinctive element of this model is the decorative ornament mounted centrally on the bar — a metal stea charm, precision-cut from stainless steel and solidly fixed on the bar. The industrial piercing is one of the most impressive ear piercings, traversing two cartilage points (usually upper and lower helix or helix and anti-helix) with a single long bar. 316L surgical stainless steel ensures biocompatibility, corrosion resistance, and long-term durability. The industrial barbell requires a longer healing period than simple piercings — 6-12 months — and must be installed exclusively by a professional piercer who evaluates ear anatomy for compatibility. Threaded balls allow easy removal and cleaning, and the bar's straight design maintains correct alignment of both perforations throughout healing. Frequently Asked Questions
