Guide & full description

Complete guide: Tongue Pierce 100004

This body jewelry is a barbell (a straight bar with a threaded ball at each end), intended for tongue piercings. It is aimed at people who already have a fully healed piercing and want to replace or change the jewelry. According to the product description, the bar is made of stainless steel, and the balls unscrew for installation and cleaning.

How to use

Before ordering, check the thickness (gauge) and length of the bar indicated in the product specifications and match them with your healed piercing.
Wash your hands thoroughly and clean/disinfect the jewelry before installing it.
Unscrew one of the two balls from the end of the bar.
Carefully insert the bar through the piercing channel until it comes out the other end.
Re-screw the ball and make sure it is tight so that it does not come loose during wear.
Periodically check the tightness of the balls (especially after meals and after talking a lot) and re-tighten them as needed.

Tips from us

Do not use this jewelry as the first piece on a fresh piercing; the initial jewelry is installed by a professional piercer.
Compare the gauge and length with your current piercing before ordering — a bar that is too short or too thick will not fit properly.
Tighten the threaded balls firmly; a loose ball can easily be lost, especially in the oral cavity.
Keep a compatible spare ball on hand (same gauge and same thread).
Clean the jewelry with sterile saline solution or warm water and mild soap, then rinse thoroughly.

Warning: The oral cavity is a sensitive environment: only install the jewelry with clean hands and a clean piece. Do not install this product on a fresh or unhealed piercing — new piercings require a specially chosen jewelry and length, installed by a professional piercer, to allow for initial swelling. Rinse your mouth with saline solution after meals and avoid harsh chemicals. Metal components can be disinfected, but decorative parts made of non-metal materials should not be autoclaved. If persistent pain, redness, discharge, or other signs of infection occur, consult a professional piercer or a doctor.

Frequently asked questions

What thickness (gauge) and length does it have?▾

The specifications on the product page indicate a needle size of 12G, a bar length of approximately 15.7 mm, and a ball diameter of 6 mm. Since piercing sizes vary, always check the gauge and length of your piercing before ordering to ensure the jewelry fits.

What material is it made of?▾

According to the description, the bar is made of stainless steel, a material commonly used for body jewelry due to its corrosion resistance. If you have a confirmed nickel allergy, generally choose nickel-free materials such as implant-grade titanium or niobium.

Is it suitable for a fresh piercing?▾

No. Do not use it as initial jewelry. Fresh piercings are fitted by a piercer with a specially chosen jewelry and length that allows for swelling. Use this product only on a fully healed piercing.

How do I clean and maintain it?▾

Clean it with sterile saline solution or warm water and mild soap, then rinse and dry it with a clean cloth. Periodically unscrew the balls to clean the threads, where deposits can accumulate. Avoid harsh chemicals.

Can I swap the balls?▾

Yes, the threaded balls can be replaced with compatible ones, with the same gauge and same thread, if you want to customize the look. Check the thread compatibility before changing them.

Can I wear it at night or in the shower?▾

Yes, stainless steel is water-resistant. However, avoid frequent removal, as the piercing channel can tighten. Rinse the jewelry with clean water after contact with chlorinated or salt water.

Product description

Tongue Pierce Needle size: 12 GRod size: 15.7 mm Ball diameter: 6 mm The rod is made of stainless steel. The Pierce Limba 100004 is a set of tongue barbells made from 316L surgical stainless steel with standard 14G gauge (1.6mm), with decorative bile acrilice colorate solide balls. The straight bar with approximately 16-19mm length is specifically sized for tongue thickness, ensuring sufficient space for initial post-piercing swelling but without being excessively long for long-term wear. Balls are made from varied materials — colored acrylic, metal with crystals, or metal with images — offering aesthetic versatility and customization possibilities. 316L surgical stainless steel is the standard material for oral piercings due to its corrosion resistance in the moist and acidic oral cavity environment, demonstrated biocompatibility, and high durability. Tongue piercing has a relatively short healing period (4-6 weeks) compared to other body piercings, but requires increased attention in the first days — soft diet, avoiding spicy and hot foods, rinsing with water or saline solution after each meal. The barbell with balls at both ends prevents accidental sliding through the piercing channel and provides stability during speaking and chewing. Frequently Asked Questions
