Guide & full description

Complete guide: Tongue Pierce 100008

This straight barbell for tongue piercing is a body jewelry piece made of stainless steel, with two threaded balls that screw onto the ends — one smaller (approx. 5mm) and one larger (approx. 7mm). It is intended for individuals who already have a fully healed tongue piercing and want to replace or change the jewelry they are wearing. The straight bar with balls at both ends prevents slipping through the channel and provides stability during speaking and eating.

How to use

Wash your hands thoroughly and clean/disinfect the barbell before first insertion (see hygiene section).
Unscrew one of the threaded balls — usually the bottom one, to insert the bar from under the tongue upward.
In front of a mirror, gently insert the bar through the healed piercing channel without forcing.
Screw the ball back on, tightening firmly with your fingers but without over-tightening (to avoid damaging the thread).
Check that it is securely fastened and centered, and that the top ball does not uncomfortably hit your teeth.
Rinse your mouth with water or saline solution after insertion and maintain good oral hygiene.

Tips from us

Only change the jewelry on a fully healed piercing; for a fresh piercing, let the professional piercer fit the first jewelry.
Periodically check the tightness of the threaded balls — they can loosen from talking and chewing, and a fallen ball could be swallowed.
Keep a compatible spare ball (same gauge and thread) on hand in case you lose one.
Rinse your mouth with water or saline solution after meals to reduce buildup around the jewelry.
If the ball 'clicks' against your teeth, discuss the appropriate bar length with your piercer to avoid enamel wear.

Warning: Jewelry for the oral cavity — hygiene matters. Clean it before insertion with sterile saline solution or warm water with mild antibacterial soap; stainless steel components can also be disinfected/sterilized, but do not autoclave any acrylic or printed parts. Do not use the product as first jewelry after getting the piercing — new piercings require special jewelry fitted by a professional. Tighten the threaded balls securely to avoid loosening and accidental swallowing. The risk of allergic reaction to stainless steel is low, but individuals with a confirmed nickel allergy should choose implant-grade titanium or niobium.

Frequently asked questions

What material is it made of?▾

Made of stainless steel, the standard material for body jewelry due to its corrosion resistance and durability. For oral piercings, surgical stainless steel is the usual choice. If you have a confirmed nickel allergy, opt for implant-grade titanium or niobium, which are nickel-free.

Is it suitable for a fresh piercing?▾

We do not recommend it as a first jewelry after getting the piercing. A new piercing requires a special jewelry piece fitted by a professional piercer. This product is intended for fully healed tongue piercings.

How do I know if it fits me (gauge and length)?▾

Check the product page on tatuat.ro for the gauge and bar length, and compare them with the jewelry you already wear or ask your piercer. The gauge must match your piercing channel; if the bar is too short or too long, you may experience discomfort or hit your teeth.

How do I clean and maintain it?▾

Clean it regularly with sterile saline solution or warm water with mild antibacterial soap, then rinse thoroughly and dry with a clean material. Avoid harsh chemicals. The metal components can be disinfected, but do not autoclave acrylic or decorative parts.

Are the balls interchangeable?▾

Yes, the threaded balls can be replaced with compatible ones of the same gauge and thread, allowing you to customize the look. The model comes with one smaller ball (approx. 5mm) and one larger ball (approx. 7mm).

Can I sleep or swim with it?▾

Yes. Stainless steel is water-resistant, and the jewelry can be worn overnight — do not remove it frequently, as a fresh channel can shrink. After swimming in a pool or the sea, rinse with fresh water.

Product description

Tongue Pierce Needle size: 12 GRod size: 18.5mm Small ball diameter: 5mm Large ball diameter: 7mm Material: stainless steel The Pierce Limba 100008 is a tongue barbell made from 316L surgical stainless steel with standard 14G gauge (1.6mm), with decorative bile logo/imagini balls. The straight bar with approximately 16-19mm length is specifically sized for tongue thickness, ensuring sufficient space for initial post-piercing swelling but without being excessively long for long-term wear. Terminal balls are internally threaded for easy assembly and disassembly. 316L surgical stainless steel is the standard material for oral piercings due to its corrosion resistance in the moist and acidic oral cavity environment, demonstrated biocompatibility, and high durability. Tongue piercing has a relatively short healing period (4-6 weeks) compared to other body piercings, but requires increased attention in the first days — soft diet, avoiding spicy and hot foods, rinsing with water or saline solution after each meal. The barbell with balls at both ends prevents accidental sliding through the piercing channel and provides stability during speaking and chewing. Frequently Asked Questions
