The Ink Machines Spring No. 79 is a replacement part for InkMachines rotary machines: the internal piston spring, specially calibrated for use with cartridge needles. It is intended for artists who use a cartridge system on a compatible InkMachines machine (e.g., Stingray) and need the correct needle bar return force. Unlike the STD version (part no. 78, for standard needles), this spring has its elastic rate adjusted for the mass and resistance of the cartridge assembly, providing complete and controlled needle retraction. Sold individually (1 piece).
Why do I need a different spring for cartridges?▾
Cartridges have different mass, resistance, and connection mechanism to the needle bar compared to traditional needles. The STD spring (no. 78) is calibrated for standard needles, while the no. 79 spring is calibrated for cartridges. With the right spring you get the correct return force; with the wrong one, retraction may be too aggressive or insufficient.
Can I use the STD spring (no. 78) with cartridges?▾
Technically the machine will work, but not at optimal performance. The STD spring may provide an inadequate return force for the cartridge assembly — either too strong or too weak. That's why Ink Machines designed the no. 79 spring specifically for cartridges; for work quality and client safety, use the correct spring.
How do I change from the STD spring to the cartridge spring?▾
Disassemble the components needed to access the piston chamber, remove the no. 78 spring, install the no. 79 spring in the same position, remove the no. 24 'Stay up' spring, reassemble, and readjust the spring stop screw (no. 77) for the new preload. Then test on artificial skin. Reverse the process when switching back to standard needles.
How do I clean and can I sterilize it?▾
Clean it with 70% isopropyl alcohol or medical-grade disinfectant solutions. Autoclaving is possible but may accelerate material fatigue. Regardless of method, rinse and dry the part completely before reassembling.
Does it work with the Dragonfly machine or any machine?▾
The product note mentions Dragonfly and Stingray for this setup, but piston chambers may differ between models, so always check specific compatibility on tatuat.ro before assuming interchangeability. Do not install the part 'by guess' if you are not sure of the model.
How many pieces do I receive in an order?▾
The product is delivered individually (1 piece). If you want spares, order multiple — it is recommended to keep 2-3 springs in your kit for continuity.
