There are adapters that make the transition, but if you work predominantly on rotary, a dedicated RCA cable is the natural choice — the clipcord remains the standard solution for coils.

The basic rule: barrier, not sterilization. The cable is covered with a disposable sleeve (clipcord sleeve) for the entire session, and the sleeve is thrown away at the end. Then you wipe the cable with a surface disinfectant solution. Do not put the clipcord in an autoclave and do not submerge it in liquids — surface disinfection plus a new sleeve for each client covers the hygiene requirements in a studio.

Silicone remains flexible during use, so it doesn't get in your hand when you move the machine and doesn't resist repositioning. Rigid cables tend to stiffen over time, and repeated bending leads to breaking of the internal wires and intermittent contact loss. The flexibility of silicone reduces exactly this type of wear, so the cable withstands daily use better.

The cable is 1.63 m — enough for the typical setup where the power supply sits on the work table or on a stand next to the chair. You have freedom of movement around the client without pulling on the cable. If your power supply is unusually far from the work area, measure the distance beforehand, as with any power cable.

The three classic signs: the machine operates intermittently even though the clips are well attached, the cable heats up abnormally during work, or you see cracks or fissures in the silicone insulation. Any of these means the internal wires or insulation have failed. Do not delay replacement — a faulty cable can ruin your rhythm in the middle of a tattoo, and the price of a new clipcord does not justify the risk.
