Guide & full description
Complete guide: Multifunctional UV Sterilizer
The UV Multifunctional Sterilizer is a 2-in-1 device that combines ultrasonic cleaning with UV-C sterilization in a single compact body, designed for tattoo studios and cosmetic salons. The ultrasonic function removes ink, blood, biofilm and other residues from hard-to-reach areas of the instruments, and the UV-C lamp subsequently sterilizes the surfaces. The UV wand is detachable and can be used independently or placed in the dedicated box for a complete cycle. Important to note: this device remains a complement to the autoclave, not a replacement.
How to use
- Fill the stainless steel tank with distilled or deionized water, to which you add a specific ultrasonic cleaning solution — avoid tap water, which can leave deposits and reduce efficiency.
- Place the instruments (grips, forceps and other standard-sized tools) in the tank, making sure they are completely covered by the liquid.
- Select the ultrasonic cleaning function from the digital control panel and set the timer; a cleaning cycle lasts between 3 and 15 minutes, depending on the level of soiling.
- After the cycle is complete, remove the instruments, rinse them if necessary and let them dry before the UV sterilization stage.
- For sterilization, use the detachable UV wand directly on the instruments or place them in the UV box — a complete cycle in the box lasts 6 minutes, and the UV-C sterilization can last between 15 and 30 minutes depending on the setting.
- Follow the LED indicators on the panel to confirm the active mode and when the cycle has finished.
- Allow approximately 20-45 minutes total for the entire process (cleaning + sterilization), depending on the options chosen.
- Finally, store the sterilized instruments in a clean space, protected from recontamination, until the next use.
Tips from us
- Use only distilled or deionized water with ultrasonic cleaning solution in the tank — tap water can leave deposits and reduce long-term efficiency.
- Follow the natural order of operations: first ultrasonic cleaning to remove physical contaminants, then UV-C sterilization for microorganisms.
- Do not look directly at the UV-C light during operation; the device has a safety system that automatically stops the light when the wand reaches an upper position, but caution is still your responsibility.
- Take advantage of the 2-in-1 design to save space on your worktable — it effectively replaces two separate devices with one.
- Periodically clean the stainless steel tank to maintain long-term performance of the ultrasonic function.
- Remember that this sterilizer is an additional hygiene step, not a substitute for the mandatory autoclave for reusable instruments.
Frequently asked questions
What advantage does the ultrasound + UV combination have over a simple UV sterilizer?▾
The device combines two technologies: ultrasonic cleaning removes physical contaminants (ink, blood, biofilm) from hard-to-reach areas of the instruments, and UV-C sterilization subsequently destroys bacteria, viruses and fungi on surfaces. Essentially, you get both deep cleaning and sanitization from a single compact device, saving space compared to having two separate devices.
Does it replace the autoclave in the studio?▾
No. Even with the dual ultrasound + UV functionality, this sterilizer remains a complement to the autoclave, not a replacement. The autoclave is mandatory for complete sterilization of reusable instruments, according to health regulations. This device adds an additional cleaning and sanitization step in the professional workflow.
What liquid should be used in the tank for ultrasonic cleaning?▾
Distilled or deionized water is recommended, combined with a specific ultrasonic cleaning solution. Avoid tap water, as it can leave mineral deposits that reduce the efficiency of acoustic cavitation and, over time, may affect the performance of the device.
How long does a complete cleaning and sterilization cycle take?▾
Ultrasonic cleaning typically lasts between 3 and 15 minutes, and UV-C sterilization between 15 and 30 minutes. If you use the UV box for the detachable wand, one cycle in the box is 6 minutes. In total, the complete process can take anywhere between 20 and 45 minutes, depending on the chosen settings and the degree of soiling of the instruments.
Is it suitable for cosmetic or micropigmentation salons as well, not just for tattooing?▾
Yes, it is versatile and suitable for both tattoo studios and micropigmentation, cosmetic or manicure-pedicure salons — any activity that requires additional sanitization of work instruments.
What warranty does this device have?▾
The warranty varies depending on the manufacturer, usually between 12 and 24 months. We recommend that you check the exact warranty conditions at the time of purchase and keep the proof of purchase for any future claims.
