Guide & full description

Complete guide: Cheyenne Sol Nova Unlimited Wireless stroke 5.0

Cheyenne Sol Nova Unlimited Wireless is a wireless tattoo machine from the Sol Nova range, in the 5.0mm stroke version — nicknamed “The Beast” — designed for bold, decisive lining. It comes with included external batteries (two Panasonic NCR18500A batteries) and a charger, offering complete freedom of movement without cables. It is intended for professional tattoo artists working with thick, saturated lines in styles such as traditional, neo-traditional, Japanese, or blackwork.

How to use

  1. Pre-charge the included Panasonic NCR18500A batteries — they have at least 5 hours of autonomy and charge in about 3 hours, at 5V and minimum 2A.
  2. Mount the compatible cartridge needle and adjust the penetration depth (0-3.0mm) according to the desired technique.
  3. Choose the operating mode using the machine's single button: Steady (constant frequency) or Responsive (frequency reactive to skin tension).
  4. Adjust the frequency, between 25 and 140 Hz, by holding down the single button while tilting the machine.
  5. Monitor the two indicator LEDs (mode indicator and power indicators) to confirm the active settings.
  6. Use the proprietary SOL Nova 33mm grip or attach a compatible disposable grip — only Ergo One Inch and Ergo Round versions fit this model.
  7. Work the lines: the 5.0mm stroke has the longest stroke in the Sol Nova range, suitable for bold, thick lines with superior penetration.
  8. When finished, turn off the machine using the single button and put the used battery to charge for the next session.

Tips from us

  • For fine shading or sensitive body areas, the 5.0mm stroke is not the right version — the Sol Nova Unlimited range also includes 2.5mm or 3.5mm stroke variants, designed for shading and delicate work.
  • Rotate the two batteries (one in use, one charging) to avoid running out of power during long sessions.
  • Check the compatibility of disposable grips before ordering — only Ergo One Inch and Ergo Round fit the Sol Nova Unlimited.
  • Responsive mode automatically adapts to skin tension, useful on areas with variable texture; Steady mode offers a constant rhythm, useful for very uniform lines.
  • Store the machine and batteries in a dry place, away from shocks and extreme temperatures, for a longer lifespan.
Warning: The machine itself is a reusable device, not a consumable — only the cartridge needles, disposable grips (if used), and protective barriers are changed for each client. Always use sterile disposable cartridge needles and cover the parts of the machine that come into contact with the working environment with a protective barrier (film/sleeve) according to tattoo hygiene protocols. Do not immerse the machine or batteries in disinfectant liquids — clean only the surface with materials compatible with electronic equipment. Manufacturing according to medical standards ISO 13485 concerns the production process of the machine, not substitutes for your own hygiene and sterilization protocols in the studio.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the 5.0mm stroke and the other Sol Nova Unlimited variants?

The Sol Nova Unlimited range comes in four strokes: 2.5mm (“The Beauty”, suitable for gentle shading and sensitive areas), 3.5mm (“The Generalist”, a balance between lining and shading), 4.0mm (“The Specialist”, a balance between lining and color packing) and 5.0mm (“The Beast”), the one at hand — with the longest stroke in the range, designed for speed, efficiency, and bold, heavily saturated lines.

Can it be used with disposable grips?

Yes, but not just any grip — only Ergo One Inch and Ergo Round disposable grips fit the Sol Nova Unlimited. Otherwise, the machine has its own SOL Nova 33mm grip.

How long does the battery last and how long does charging take?

The set includes two Panasonic NCR18500A batteries and a charger with cable. Each battery provides at least 5 hours of operation, and a full charge takes approximately 3 hours, at 5V and minimum 2A.

How to clean and maintain the machine between clients?

Use sterile disposable cartridge needles and protective barriers on the parts of the machine that cannot be thermally sterilized. The machine and batteries are not immersed in disinfectant liquids — only surface clean with materials suitable for electronic equipment, following the studio's hygiene protocol.

What warranty does the machine have?

The product has a 12-month warranty. If the machine undergoes a repair, you receive an additional 6 months of warranty after that.

For which tattoo styles is the 5.0mm stroke version recommended?

Being oriented towards bold, thick, and heavily saturated lines, the 5.0mm version is suitable for artists specialized in styles such as traditional, neo-traditional, Japanese, and blackwork.
