How much stronger is the Red magnet compared to White?▾
The Strong (Red) version is 25% stronger than the Standard (White) magnet. Essentially, you get higher motor torque, which allows the machine to maintain constant speed under heavier loads (large needles, tough skin). The difference is especially noticeable with 14M or larger configurations.
Do I need to adjust the voltage when switching from White to Red?▾
Usually yes. Because Red produces more torque at the same voltage, you will reduce the voltage by approximately 0.5–1 V to achieve the same working speed. Alternatively, you can keep the voltage and benefit from the extra force — useful on tough skin.
Does it consume more battery?▾
Marginally, yes. The higher consumption reduces the Powerpack's battery life by approximately 10–15% compared to the White magnet, at the same speed. If battery life is your priority, White remains the more economical option.
Can I use Red for fine lining?▾
It is possible, but with caution: at low voltages Red can be more abrupt on startup and stronger than needed for delicate work. For fine line with small needles, White offers more nuanced control. Red excels at power — bold lines with 7RL+, color packing, and tough skin.
Does it work on Scorpion X2?▾
X2 has its own magnet (part no. 221 — X2 Drivemagnet Strong). The physical compatibility of the X1 Red magnet with X2 is not guaranteed, so always use the specific part for your model.
How do I properly maintain, clean, and store it?▾
It is not a sterile consumable and does not touch the skin, but it is part of the machine: keep it clean, protect the machine with a barrier during work, and periodically check the centering (the gap between the magnet and grip must be equal all around the circumference). Store it separately and labeled from the White magnet, protected from impact and away from other magnets or small metal parts, to avoid cracking or confusion.
